The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend is OUT NOW!

After half a decade of wonderful creativity, hard graft and fantastic teamwork, we’re so proud to announce that our debut full-length VR narrative adventure, ‘The Pirate Queen: A Forgotten Legend’ has officially been released into the world!

Come be pirates with us and play now on Meta Quest and Steam

It’s a seismic moment - one of the biggest since our studio was founded - and we’re so delighted that our hard work and creative vision is finally being shared with you.

The game launch is special for many reasons.

“As a female-led studio, we're incredibly proud to be launching the game during International Women’s History Month. When I first heard the story, I just fundamentally believed that everyone needed to know that the most powerful pirate in history was a woman. To be able to share Cheng Shih’s story with the world is such a privilege, and hugely exciting.” said Executive producer Eloise Singer, the project’s creative director, and Singer Studios’ CEO and Founder.

“We’re excited for you all to step into Cheng Shih’s shoes and journey to 19th century China” Siobhan McDonnell, Producer of The Pirate Queen, notes that “The team really threw themselves into how Cheng Shih’s world might look, sound and feel to craft the historical details that bring it to life. We’re looking forward to bringing this approach to the many other stories we want to share.”

The game is incredibly immersive, fun to play, historically rich and beautiful to look at. Maja Bodenstein, Lead Writer of The Pirate Queen, notes that “Our aim was to create a narrative that was both fun and educational, tailored around the player experience. To this end, we developed the story and the core gameplay functions simultaneously, to make sure our scenario made full use of the unique opportunities offered by VR.”

Creating, developing and launching The Pirate Queen is the result of an extraordinary team effort. We couldn’t have done it without every single person from the Singer team.

Excitingly, the game’s release is just the beginning of The Pirate Queen universe. We’re thrilled to be working with Lucy Liu to expand the story into a visually stunning graphic novel, film, and TV series, so watch this space!
